Our Mission
At Jewish Learning and Prayer, we strive to create a warm and inclusive environment for all. Our mission is to foster spiritual growth through education, prayer, and community engagement.
We serve as a Mishkan T’fillah מִשְׁכַּן תְּפִלָּה (Dwelling of Prayer) to create a Neveh Kodesh נְוֵה קֹדֶשׁ (Holy Oasis), a Beit Chaverim בֵּית חֲבֵרִים (House of Friends) and a Beit Midrash בֵּית מִדְרָשׁ (House of Study).
We strive to:
- Engage with Wisdom and Learning: To engage with Halachic wisdom through the lens of modern revelations, seeing Torah תּוֹרָה as a living guide that lights a path towards soulful growth and healing. We foster a deeper appreciation of Jewish history, traditions, and culture through educational programs and observances.
- Act as Sh’lichim שְׁלִיחִים (Emissaries): To serve as emissaries to the wider world by utilizing educational videos, musical media, social media, and an "Online Beit Midrash" בֵּית מִדְרָשׁ to make Jewish learning and prayer accessible to all seekers.
- Serve as a Chavura חֲבוּרָה: To deepen relationships within our community through welcoming gatherings for Shabbat and Holy Days—such as Shamashes Noshes for Sukkot and Shavuot—that combine traditional liturgy with communal connection to enrich spiritual lives.
- Embody the Shamash שַׁמָּשׁ: Like the helper candle that lights the others without diminishing its own flame, to contribute to the well-being of the community through Gemilut Hasadim גְּמִילוּת חֲסָדִים (Acts of Loving Kindness), ensuring that all in our presence feel included and supported.
Envelop Diversity: To envelop the diversities of Jewish practice—from Ashkenazi to Sephardi—creating a legacy of light and spiritual renewal.
